It’s VERY IMPORTANT to be on a skincare regimen after waxing. Aestheticians remove hair, but the skincare regimen is totally up to you. The good news is.. IT’S EASY! All you have to do is “do it”. ❤

DO NOT wax if your on any blood medications or acne medications. If you’re on ANY medications ask your doctor if waxing is right for you.

¿Have a special event coming up? ¿Getting Married?

I don’t recommend getting any beauty services at a new place, right before a special event.
Your skin can certainly have a reaction from the wax/products used if you’ve never tried these products before.
My wax is Hypoallergenic and Skin Care products are Natural.. but you still never know.
Keep this in mind when booking an appointment here or anywhere else. ❤Most places won’t warn you!❤

Pre-Wax Care

1. Before you come in, be sure to exfoliate and moisturize 12 -24 Hours before your service . (Not the same day)
Waxing is exfoliating, so we don’t want your skin to be over exfoliated which can make the skin lift (looks like a burn), it turns dark and it’s extra sensitive.
2. Mild daily exfoliation ensures hair doesn’t get stuck under the skin. It also prepares your hair so it’s ready to come out of the follicle easily.
This makes waxing a lot easier. Trust me! ❤
3. Moisturizing: (putting on lotion and drinking water) so your skin and hair is not dry. Dry hair breaks. Dry skin cracks.
4. DO NOT TRIM/SHAVE: (A LOT OF CLIENTS MAKE THIS MISTAKE) Leave your hair long. All hair should be at least the length of a grain of rice. If it’s too long, don’t worry, I know what to do. If hair is too short the wax won’t grab the hair, resulting in a not so smooth looking wax.
5. AVOID: Caffeine and Alcohol before your appointment.
6. Stay out of the sun. It makes your skin really sensitive.
7. If getting a bikini service: I recommend not working out 24 hours before coming in. It makes your bikini line extremely sensitive.
The constant rubbing can cause skin lifting when waxing.
8. DO: take an anti-inflammatory.. like Ibuprofen 45 minutes before your appointment.
9. Menstrual started? That’s okay! Plug it, and come on in!

Just a heads up:
(If you cancel less than 6 hours from your appointment due to menstral.. I still charge 50% of service. Please schedule when it’s ending. I had 5 ladies try to cancel the same day and I had to charge.)

Post-care Wax

Wait 24- 48 hours after waxing to have “bed-room relations”
No sauna, No pool, No beach, No gym (basically anything that’s sweaty and causes friction).
Your pores are freshly opened, and your skin is freshly exfoliated, these things can cause skin irritation.
Wear loose cotton clothing .

❤Cleanse:

Ok! So you just got waxed! Which means your pores are completely empty from hair. This is GREAT! So now you want to be sure to keep the area as clean as possible. I recommend a mild hydrating bodywash like Dove.

Common Mistakes: TOUCHING: Your fingertips have the most bacteria on it, so you don’t want to introduce that (bacteria) into freshly waxed skin! We touch things without thinking about it. Touching freshly waxed skin (without washing your hands first) is a sure way to irritate your skin and it will cause a bunch of little white bumps, irritation, and breakouts. This is the main reason why you’ll see little pustules (white bumps) within a few days of the wax!
Clients usually do this as their laying on the table while getting waxed. I can give you some hand sanitizer to help.

1. It’s best to wash your hands BEFORE and AFTER you use the restroom. (Not just AFTER).
2. Bring a fresh pair of undies or…
- Don’t wear any after service or…
- Put on a fresh pad!
(Hair and skin have natural bacteria on it, so we want to have a fresh pair of undies, and not introduce old bacteria into freshly waxed skin.)
3. Wash all sheets, blankets, and night wear. We want EVERYTHING clean!

❤Exfoliate:

(Exfoliating means to scrub the skin.)

The purpose is to be sure hair doesn’t get stuck under the skin, causing ingrowns (ugly bumps). Exfoliating moves old dead skin cells out of the pores, (that clog the hair follicle) so hair will grow out smoothly. Hair grows at different growth rates. Some grow faster than others. So, it’s very important to keep exfoliating mildly and daily (everyday) to be sure little hairs don’t get stuck under the skin.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVER EXFOLIATE!

You can exfoliate with a body brush. I violin (brush in long strokes) for about 10 seconds, in different directions (up, down, left and right, circular motions) and that’s it. You can also use exfoliating gloves.
TIP: FOR THE BEST WAXING RESULTS.. ALWAYS EXFOLIATE 12-24 hours before getting waxed. NOT THE SAME DAY: Wax is exfoliating as well, and you don’t want to over exfoliate the skin. Resulting in Skin Lifting (It looks like a burn) WE DON’T WANT THAT)

❤Ingrown Hair Treatment

Common Mistake: Not using one!
Very few people can get away with not using an Ingrown Hair Treatment. Most of us must use it (especially me.. LOL!). All you have to do is put it on everyday. That’s it!
Just like you have to use deodorant everyday, you can’t expect to see the best results if you don’t use Ingrown Hair Treatment everyday.
It’s daily prevention.
So even if you don’t see any ingrowns or breakouts, it’s best to use it anyway.. to be sure you don’t get them.
TIP: If you’re very prone to ingrowns use an Ingrown Hair Treatment twice a day. Morning and Night.
Ingrown Hair Treatments I recommend, and sell :
Get The Bump Outta Here $20.ºº

PFB Vanish Chromabright $33ºº (this one also helps brighten skin)

You can also use:
Witch Hazel and Tee Tree Oil: (These are great to aid Ingrown Hair Treatments) Alone they aren’t enough to prevent bumps.

Witch Hazel: conditions and gently cleanses the hair follicles (pores) to remain clear, smooth, and it helps to balance the skin without drying it out.
__________________________________
Tee Tree Oil: is antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory.

❤Moisturize

Daily moisturizing (put lotion on everyday) is pertinent to having smooth, gorgeous skin!
Keeping your skin hydrated helps the hair grow out of the pores with less chance of ingrowns.
Be careful to only use products that say “noncomedogenic”.
This means it will not clog your pores.

Heavy creams can clog your pores in the bikini and underarm area.
However, heavy creams are usually okay in the winter.
If your getting big bumps after using certain creams, that means it’s clogging your pores.
I recommend using dermatologist tested products like CeraVe
because there’s no irritants, it’s fragrance free, gentle for sensitive skin, and has Hyaluronic Acid to help retain the skins moisture.
Sold at Ulta (amongst other stores)
CeraVe has different lines like
CeraVe Rough and Bumpy (creamy and not greasy)
CeraVe Healing Ointment (Similar to Vaseline: greasy but AMAZING)
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (creamy and not greasy)
TIP: It’s best to moisturize before going to bed. That way your skin is getting a deep hydration treatment while you sleep. When you wake up you can put your deodorant on and not have oily underarms. ❤

Everybody’s skin is different…

There are those that can workout and come right in and get waxed and have no reactions.
There are those that can use heavy products and their skin is fine.
There are those that go to the gym after a wax.. and they never have irritation…
Everybody’s skin is different..
I’m just giving basic guidelines to go by.. but trial and error is the best way to find out what works best for your exact skin type.
Try things out and see how they work for your skin. That’s how we all learn.❤
